OK, I've seen about the departure of Bob, so is the full time replacement gonna be called Bill? Barry? Brian? Ben? Or are we gonna see a band name change? PIG W perhaps...

Big W are pleased to announce that our new Bass Player is Dave Halliwell (of Glass Barrel Jam Night fame). :thumb

We will not be changing our name to Dig W (or anything else) mainly cos i can't be arsed re-doing the website and logo stuff!! It does however give us an option if Woolies ever want to sue us!!!

BTW Ian, not trying to teach to to suck eggs or anything but if you want all your site to be spidered by the search engines you have to put an ALT on the logo that you click to enter your site - as you have done on the menu. Search engines can't see it as a link otherwise - I made the same mistake :lol:

I need to learn how to suck eggs! This is the first/only web site i've had a crack at. Can you tell me exactly what i need to do. If its long and boring for the forum, drop me an email.

P.S. Don't know what spidered is either! :whistle

Haha, no problem. The search engines search out your website, called spidering but when it gets to a point where there are no links, it stops. If there is no alt, it doesn't see the link.
I don't know what you are using to generate your site but a bit of your HTML on the index page reads..

change it to something like..

Hopefully that should do the trick.

Never used it :huh: you could delve into the technical side and edit the html using notepad. I would have thought there would be a way of adding it though - you have done it on the menu. When you hover over the buttons, it comes up with "HISTORY", "THE BAND", etc. you just need to apply the same thing to the link on the index page.

Thinking about it, a simpler way would be to put something like "Click the logo to enter or click here" with a link to the next page.

The Big W site is now fully updated for the new line up anfter much fucking around last night.....how did i ever get myself into this??

Told the missus i'd be 10mins and ended up taking about 3 hours!!

When i said i use Publisher i was talking crap. I actually use Front Page.

:lol: I used Frontpage once, I think, oooh about 6/7 years ago :unsure: Nvu is quite a good, free editor.
