ANGLO/IRISH BANDS UNITE TO ROCK THE UK AND MAKE POVERTY HISTORY
England-based rockers "Fury UK" are to support Irish band "Glyder" on a unique tour in October 2006. Events begin at the Purple Turtle, Camden, London on 3rd October & finish in Manchester at the Oxjam Festival on 8th October.
This is a 6 date tour & the line-up is as follows :-
3rd October : Purple Turtle, Camden, London (Glyder / Fury UK / Faster Inferno)
4th October : The Cartoon, Croydon, Surrey (Glyder / Fury UK / Voodoo Vegas)
5th October : The Woolpack, Doncaster, Yorkshire (Glyder / Fury UK + guests)
6th October : The Tivoli, Buckley, North Wales (Glyder / Fury UK)
7th October : Glass Barrel, Atherton, Manchester (Glyder / Fury UK)
8th October : Oxjam Bury, Siberia Club, Bury, Manchester (Glyder / Fury UK / Voodoo Vegas / Anti Chamber + guests)
Glyder are delighted to be returning to the UK with the opportunity to repeat their previous successful promotion of their debut self-titled album produced by Chris Tsangarides who has worked in the past with the likes of Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest & Bruce Dickinson. Glyder have recently received accolades for their performances on tour with fellow-Irish rockers "The Answer" ; Kerrang!...."sublime Lizzy-meets-Maiden bombast....somewhere in the ether Phil Lynott is smiling his approval".
Fury UK are a young 3 piece Manchester-based band of rapidly-growing reputation & are similarly delighted to be working with Glyder. Their debut album "My Tomorrow" is a fascinating blend of "amazing guitar work....perfect little hard rock breakdowns" (Metal Hammer). Their band ethos centres around "big guitar solos are back" & with influences across a range of Metallica, Iron Maiden, Rush & Black Sabbath, it's clear why Fury UK are an excellent combination with Glyder.
At the opening date of the tour at the Purple Turtle, Camden, London on 3rd October, the line-up is completed by "Faster Inferno" who boast lead guitarist Tyson Schenker in their ranks (son of Michael Schenker - UFO, Scorpions, MSG). Rock 'n' roll is the name of the game here & represents a perfect introduction to this tour.
Rocksector Records is proud to be involved in putting this tour together ; as well as working with great bands it's also an excellent opportunity to make a telling contribution to the fundraising of Oxfam....this charity is promoting a month-long series of music events around the UK in October 2006, as part of its' efforts to make poverty history. The 8th October date for Oxjam Bury coincides with the final date of the Glyder / Fury UK tour & represents the ideal finale to what is expected to be a series of hugely successful & memorable rock performances.
